What Happened at the Fourth IranGrain Conference?

The fourth IranGrain Conference, the largest international event in Iran in the field of grains, animal feed inputs, oilseeds, and related grain processing industries, was held on October 1-2, 2024 at the Eram Grand Hotel.

Recognized as the most important scientific and commercial gathering of executives and professionals in this field, the conference once again attracted widespread participation from experts, managers, and policymakers in the grain industry.

During this two-day event, specialized panels were held on topics such as risk management in the grain import chain, oilseeds, animal feed, Iran-Russia trade, grain products, ports and grain logistics, legal regulations of grain trade, oilseeds, and the animal feed and poultry industry. The latest scientific achievements, discussions on current issues, and challenges in grain imports and inputs were thoroughly addressed, fostering new business relationships among industry leaders.

According to the public relations department of the Iranian Grain Association, the international IranGrain Conference featured prominent speakers, including the Ambassador of Kazakhstan, officials from the Indian Chamber of Commerce, traders from Russia and Brazil, technology providers from Germany, and representatives from the Geneva Grain Conference in Switzerland.

Unprecedented Reception for the Conference

A key highlight of this year’s IranGrain gathering, in addition to the presence of associations related to the grain, animal feed, and oilseed supply chains, was the remarkable participation of international guests and registrants. Over 80 individuals from Russia and Kazakhstan and a total of 120 participants from countries such as the UAE, Singapore, Turkey, Switzerland, India, Brazil, Russia, and Kazakhstan attended the conference. The first day saw 850 participants, while the second day had 650 attendees, despite political issues affecting participation.

Iran’s Grain Industry Goes Global

According to the executive director of the IranGrain Conference and the president of the Iran-Switzerland Chamber of Commerce, IranGrain is the largest gathering of grain, animal feed, and oilseed industry players. The conference, organized entirely by the private sector with no government dependencies, brings together global and regional industry leaders to exchange the latest news and information, advancing the grain, animal feed, and oilseed trade.

He added that the conference, initially launched by the Iran-Switzerland Chamber of Commerce, has evolved over three successful iterations. This year, it was held with scheduled notifications and with direct support and participation from decision-making associations in the grain, animal feed, and oilseed industries. Despite the event’s focus on private sector engagement, significant efforts were made to include representatives from government bodies related to the grain supply chain, resulting in strong participation from key decision-making organizations.

According to the report, prominent associations such as the Iranian Food Industry Guild Association, the Grain Suppliers Association, the Oil Industry Association, the Livestock and Poultry Feed Producers Association, the Union of Animal Feed Importers, the Pasta Producers and Exporters Association, the Flour Industry Guild Association, the Glucose and Starch Association, the House of Industry and Mining of Iran, and the Chambers of Commerce of Brazil, Russia, Kazakhstan, the UAE, the Iranian Commodity Auditing Association, and the Iranian Shipping Association were among the private sector organizations invited. On the government side, entities such as the Trade Promotion Organization, the Livestock Affairs Support Organization, the Iran Government Trading Corporation, the Ports and Maritime Organization, and the Ministry of Agriculture were present.

IranGrain Conference: The Most Important Networking Hub in Iran’s Grain Industry

According to Donya-e-Eqtesad, this conference is recognized as the most important networking hub in Iran’s grain industry and, according to participants, the only Iranian event that is held in accordance with global standards.

One of the key achievements of the conference, besides presenting the latest international reports and statistics, was the holding of B2B meetings between grain traders. In this friendly and professional environment, they engaged in discussions on the challenges of grain trade, met with representatives from major grain-selling and service-providing companies, and reviewed the activities of transportation and inspection companies. Additionally, representatives from banks such as VTB, SBER Bank, DELU Bank, MIR Business Bank, Bank Sepah, Bank Saman, and Bank Karafarin attended and held multiple meetings with traders.

The IranGrain Conference, as the largest and only gathering of grain, animal feed, and oilseed traders, not only provides Iranian executives with precise information on the global market but also helps improve their understanding of Iran’s grain market and its strategic role in the global grain industry.
